The DigiBoard OS/2 User Diagnostics (DGOS2UD.EXE) permits a user to functionally test a single comm port. The diagnostics require the use of a loopback connector to test the modem control lines and data transmission/reception. The loopback connectors are available through DigiBoard's Customer Service Department (612-912-3456) or can be made to the following specification : DTR -> DSR, DCD RTS -> CTS, RI TX -> RX On DB-25 connectors the pinout are as follows : Signal Pin --------------- TX 2 RX 3 RTS 4 CTS 5 DSR 6 DTR 20 RI 22 On RJ-45 connector the pinouts are as follows : Signal Pin --------------- TX 5 RX 6 RTS 3 CTS 8 DSR 2 DTR 9 RI 1 The diagnostics can be run in one of two modes, Short Test Mode or Continuous Test Mode. In Short Test Mode, the modem control lines are tested once and then all combinations of baud rates, data bits, stop bits and parity bits are tested once in a transmit/receive test. In Continuous Test Mode, the same tests are performed except that the transmit/receive test is run repeatedly. The parameters for the trans- mit/receive test are as follows : Bauds : 110, 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600 Data Bits : 8, 7 Stop Bits : 1, 2 Parity : None, Odd, Even.
