INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS The Digi Port Authority - Remote package can be installed using the rpm utility on the distribution file 40002188_.src.rpm or, on systems that do not have the rpm utility, by using the distribution file 40002188_.tgz. To install on a system with the rpm utility, do the following: Place 40002188_.src.rpm in a suitable directory. rpm -ivv 40002188_.src.rpm cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS rpm -bb digidpar-1.01.spec cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/ rpm -ivv digidpar-1.01-0..rpm To install on a system that does not have the rpm utility, do the following: Place 40002188_.tgz in a suitable directory such as /usr/src cd /usr/src tar -xvzf 40002188_.tgz cd digidpar-1.01/sme make install make link It is recommended that you do not remove the source tree since the makefiles are necessary for the uninstall procedure. Note that Digi part number versioning WILL NOT MATCH package versioning. Part number versions will be in the form 40002188_A, 40002188_A1, 40002188_B, etc. Package versioning is in the form Vx.y, where x is the major release level and y is the minor release level. The package is installed on the target machines as "digidpar" and the package version can be displayed by issuing the following command: pkginfo -x digidpar o Digi Port Authority - Remote (dparemote) is installed in /opt/dg and includes a man page for dparemote. Detailed help is available within the dparemote GUI and on the Digi International website. 7.
