1.  INTRODUCTION

The Digi MODBUS MIB was designed for use with network management
stations or any other SNMP based application which can read SMIv1
formatted MIB files. 

The OID registration for the root of the MODBUS MIB is 
provided by the DIGI-SMI MIB, and, consequently, the DIGI-SMI
is required for proper operation on most managment applications.

The Digi MODBUS MIB complies with SMIv1 syntax, compatible
with most applications which utilize MIBs.

    Digi Device/Terminal Servers that support SNMP and the MODBUS 
    protocol

    o Range on masterDescriptorBroadcastAddress was changed from
      0..255 to 0..247
