iDigi Connector for Android

Installing the iDigi Connector for Android:

This document provides instructions on how to install the Eclipse extensions that facilitate the development of Android applications that communicate through the iDigi Device Cloud. Instructions about how to install the iDigi Connector in your Android device are available in Eclipse, in the documentation section.

Requirements

Before you install the iDigi Connector for Android Eclipse extensions you must verify that you fulfill the following requirements:

Downloading the iDigi Connector for Android Eclipse plug-ins

Follow these steps to install the latest revision of the iDigi Connector for Android using the Eclipse Update Manager feature
  1. Start Eclipse, then select Help > Install New Software....
  2. Click Add, in the top-right corner.
  3. In the Add Repository dialog that appears, enter "iDigi Connector for Android" for the Name and the following URL for the Location:
      ftp://ftp1.digi.com/support/idigi/connector/android/
  4. Click OK
  5. In the Available Software dialog, select the "iDigi Connector for Android" checkbox under the "Android" group and click Next.

    Note: If you don't see the Android group, select the "Group items by category" checkbox.

  6. In the next window, you'll see a list of the elements to be downloaded. Click Next.
  7. Read and accept the license agreements, then click Finish.

    Note: If you get a security warning saying that the authenticity or validity of the software can't be established, click OK.

  8. When the installation completes you will be asked for restarting Eclipse. Click OK to restart it.
