These instructions will help you choose the correct folder. If the router contains a Gobi cellular module, for an FTP or WEB upgrade you can choose to download the Digi firmware zip file with Gobi or the zip file without Gobi. The Gobi.zip file contains firmware for the Gobi cellular module. It is very large (currently 21MB) and rarely changes. Normally it is acceptable and much quicker to upgrade just using the files without Gobi even if your router contains a Gobi cellular module. To determine if the WR41\44 contains Gobi, please check the part number on the approval label on the underside of the router: e.g. PN:WR44-U5S1-WE1-SW This number is of the format AAAA-B1B2-CDD-EE Check the value of B1, if B1 is set to “U5” (as it is in the example WR44-U5S1-WE1-SW) then the router contains a Gobi module. If the router is a WR41 and it does contain a Gobi module, you can download firmware from either the “WR41V2-with-Gobi” or the “WR41V2” folder. If the router is a WR44 with Gobi then you can download firmware from either the “WR44-with-Gobi” or the “WR44” folder. If the router is a WR41 without Gobi then you must determine if it is a V1 or a V2. Check the value of the “HW Rev” on the approval label and download the zip file from the appropriate folder: 7103A choose “WR41” 3203A choose “WR41V2” 8901A choose “WR41-Lite” The gobi.zip, python.zip and wizards.zip files are optional and can be downloaded separately if required from the root of this folder.
