INTRODUCTION

This is a production release of firmware for the Digi One TS and
PortServer TS 2/4.  These devices provide high-performance serial port
connectivity with added MEI support, 802.3af powered Ethernet, and
9-30V DC power. These devices support a 10/100 mbps Ethernet network
interface, TCP/IP, Telnet, Reverse Telnet, SNMP, PPP, SSHv2,
PortBuffering, ARP-Ping, ADDP, DPA-Remote monitoring tool, and Digi's
patented RealPort software for COM or TTY port control and management.

ENHANCEMENTS

Support for the new multi-port MEI boards was added.  This provides MEI
interfaces on all four serial ports, as well as the ability to provide
power over the RI and DTR modem signals and use power provided on the
RI signal of the first port.

The H series of products allow extended temperature operation.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS
	
    - Latency optimization mode is not suited for high bandwidth applications.
  
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A TFTP server will be required for the following steps:

Command Line Upgrade of EOS
--------------------------

Upgrade the EOS with the command:

  boot load=<tftpserver>:82000747_J1.bin

The unit should be reset after the EOS upgrade.

HTTP upgrade of EOS
--------------------

The EOS may also be upgraded from the Web UI configuration interface.

From the machine containing the image file to which you will be
upgrading, navigate the WebUI menus to "Admin\HTTP Upgrade" and enter
the path and filename into the text box on the screen and click
submit.
