For the 82000684_E firmware release this would be the 82000685_C POST. Instructions for upgrading the POST are in ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. INTRODUCTION This is a production release of firmware for the PortServer TS 8/16 and TS16 rack. SUPPORTED PRODUCTS The code supports the following devices: PortServer TS 8 PortServer TS 16 PortServer TS 16 Rack ENHANCEMENTS The "E" release adds support for: - SNMP traps for successful/unsuccessful login attempts - Latency option and optimizations - UDP socket support - Reverse SSHv2 support - RADIUS authentication under SSHv2 - Set 10/100 half/full duplex Ethernet operation - DHCP Client Identifier - CPConf support under web user-interface BUG-FIXES - Sending break from PortServer TS 8/16 over RealPort causes SUN box to hang - Using rlogin to an hp-ux host does not echo "password:" - If autoconnect fails, the unit prints "Connection failed" even when verbose messaging is disabled ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The "E" released firmware and release notes are located at ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/firmware/psts8-16/ DPA - Remote and its release notes are located at ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/utilities/dpar/ A TFTP server will be required for the following steps: Upgrading the POST and FEP -------------------------- When upgrading from a firmware release prior to 82000684_B, the POST code must be upgraded first. The release history below identifies which versions of firmware are compatible with which versions of POST code. If you are unsure which version of POST you are running, upgrade to the most recent version. The most recent POST code, 82000685_C, is located at ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/firmware/psts8-16/. This can be done from the OS with the command: Load the POST code first with the command: boot load-boot=:82000685_C.bin A reset is necessary to allow the new POST to run. boot action=reset Upgrade the FEP with the command: boot load=:82000684_E.bin The unit should be reset after the FEP upgrade as well. This firmware release is not compatible with the 82000685_A version of POST code. Also note the version tracking, such as the v1.0.2 designation used in the 82000684_A firmware release, is not used any more.
