For the 82000684_D EOS (Embedded Operating System) firmware release, this would be the 82000685_C POST. Instructions for upgrading the POST code are in ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. INTRODUCTION This is a production release of firmware for the PortServer TS 8/16 and TS16 rack. SUPPORTED PRODUCTS The code supports the following devices: PortServer TS 8 PortServer TS 16 PortServer TS 16 Rack ENHANCEMENTS The "D" release adds support for TCP Tunneling, and speeds up the re-establishment of auto connections, after a session has been closed or disconnected. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ADDP (Advanced Device Discovery Protocol) - Allows the system to identify all the Digi devices attached to a network by sending out a multicast packet. If a Digi device has ADDP it will respond to the multicast packet and identify itself to the application sending the multicast. If your Digi device is not found, enable multicast forwarding on your router. ADDP also allows users to assign an IP address to devices with an IP address of 0.0.0.0. The capability to assign an IP address has been implemented in the Digi software utility, DPA - Remote (Digi Port Authority - Remote) version 2.01 and later. To assign an IP address from DPA - Remote: Run ADDP discovery, select a device with an IP address of 0.0.0.0, then press Configure. The "D" released firmware and release notes are located at ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/firmware/psts8-16/ DPA - Remote and its release notes are located at ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/utilities/dpar/ A TFTP server will be required for the following steps: Upgrading the POST code and EOS -------------------------- Upgrade the POST code before upgrading from a firmware release prior to 82000684_B. The release history below identifies the versions of firmware that are compatible with specific versions of POST code.
