How to update your Existing Driver ================================== In order to update the Edgeport drivers perform the following steps: 1. Place the updated Edgeport driver disk into floppy drive "A" 2. Right Click on the My Computer Icon on the desktop and select 'Properties' 3. Select the Device Manager Tab. 4. Double Click on the Universal Serial Bus Controller device. 5. Double Click on the Inside Out Networks Edgeport device. (Warning! do not select the Inside Out Networks EdgePort Serial Ports device.) 6. Select the Driver Tab. 7. Click on Update Driver, then click Next and follow the directions on the screen. From this point on, the update process is identical to the initial installation process. 8. Due to limitations in the USB support for Windows 95 OSR2.1, you must now reboot your computer in order for the updated drivers to take effect. Release information: =================== Problem: If after installing the Microsoft USB supplement (usbsupp.exe), Windows plug & play does not auto detect the Edgeport. Solution: Try the following: 1. Open the System Properties from the control panel and select the Device Manager Tab. Double Click on the Universal Serial Bus Controller device. Make sure that both the ROOT HUB and HOST Controller are listed. If only the HOST Controller is listed then remove it and reboot. 2. Open the System Properties from the control panel and select the Device Manager Tab. Check for a device labeled ?UNKNOWN. Double Click on UNKNOWN and check for a HOST Controller or ROOT HUB If listed then remove them and reboot If, after rebooting, the Add Hardware Wizard finds the USB devices and requires new drivers, such as uhcd.sys, the drivers are located in the /windows/system directory.
