Release Notes SYNC/570 SNA Server for Windows NT Driver Installation Instructions Part # 93500025H Reference Manual Part # 90500018C Reference Diskette Part # 40510128H The following fixes are in SNA Server driver version 3.3.2: * The readme.wri has been updated * The installation files now have the correct version number. * Cable port types are detected on * SNA Server stuck on Pending status on certain machines (PCI 2.0 compliancy issue). NOTE: The following limitations apply to SNA Server driver version 3.3.2: * ISA and PCI Bus * Support for Intel x86 based platforms * One adapter per system * Port speed maximum is 2.048 Mbps The adapter hardware is installed into the system following the instructions described in the DIGI Sync/570 and Sync/570i Synchronous Expansion Boards User's Manual. (Part # 90500018). The adapter switches for the base I/0 address must be set before inserting an ISA board; selecting the I/0 address is also described in the User's Manual. You should be familiar with SNA Server for Windows NT installation and setup before beginning. SNA Server must be installed before installing the SYNC/570 driver. The DIGI SNA Server Communications Driver for Windows NT is installed via the SNA Server Setup Utility, as follows: See README.WRI on the SYNC/570 driver diskette for any updates or revisions to the driver and installation. Windows NT on-line help is also available - from File Manager, double click on digisdlc.hlp. a) Insert the DIGI SNA Driver diskette into the selected drive (e.g., A: or B:). b) Go to SNA Server Setup and choose "Other". c) Specify a:\ (or other drive), no path name is required, pick Continue. d) Click on DIGI SYNC/570 SDLC or DIGI SYNC/570 QLLC Link Services for PCI or ISA (as appropriate for your board), then pick Install. e) If your board is an ISA, select the Base I/O address. For PCI select the adapter number for the PCI adapter. f) Select Line Type. g) If your board is ISA, select Details and enter the SYNC/570 IRQ number and the base memory address. h) Refer to SNA Server documentation and on-line help for binding link services to the device driver. NOTICE TO UPGRADE CUSTOMERS: Before installing this new version the old DIGI Link Services must be removed.
