BUG FIXES This release includes all bug fixes from any previous version of driver software release for the supported adapters. The driver package was updated to include the following fixes: o The complete description of a line in PortAssist Viewer is now visible in the Select Data Source drop-down list box. o The displayed Long Haul Attenuation values are no longer off by 1dB for some ranges. o The displayed Short Haul Line Length values are no longer off by 1 foot for some ranges. o PortAssist Viewer now decodes unnumbered frames correctly. o DigiPamA.exe is no longer removed from system when the driver is uninstalled. o Modem nationality selection for South Korea is now present. o LTC Telcom fax now receives using fax class 2. o PortAssist Manager now displays the version number of the communications agent. o Multiple 56k RAS Modem choices no longer display when selecting the modem type. o 230400 baud rate is now displayed as an option when configuring the Digi RAS 56k modem using TAPI. o The modem applet can now correctly detect modems on a DataFire RAS PE1 or PE2. o The DataFire RAS B4 S/T card can now configured for use with the INS-64 switch type in Japan. o The "Clear Statistics" button in PortAssist Viewer is now working. o DataFire Sync/2000 adapters configured for Frame Relay or X.25 now transfer data properly. KNOWN LIMITATIONS E1R2 Support: E1R2 is currently supported as a beta feature. If you are not a beta tester for this product, please do not select E1R2. Operating System Support: This release no longer supports Windows NT 3.XX. Installation/User Interface: Within the wizard mode, if invalid input has been entered and back button is pressed, an error message might appear indicating that the input is invalid. Valid input needs to be entered to be able to go back. PortAssist Viewer: The PortAssist Viewer shows a Line Speed and Configured Baud Rate of zero for the SYNC/570 if the link is externally clocked. If the link is internally clocked both values show the Configured Baud Rate. The SYNC/570 does not calculate the Line Speed. PortAssist Viewer shows a protocol of SDLC for QLLC SNA links. Use the raw data for problem diagnosis. RAS Adapters: On Channelized T1 Wink Start Trunks without dial tone super- vision, modems must be initialized with ATX3 for dial out. When configuring dial-up modem service for a line, all modems on the line should be configured since incoming calls may be assigned to any channel. On ISDN Trunks, the following rules are applied to modem dial strings: o A comma (delay) in the first or second position is allowed. o Then the first non-numeric character terminates the dial string (e.g. 9,12345678 is a valid dial string and 9,1,234-5678 is not). SYNC Adapters: For PPP links, both sides of a connection must disconnect before they can be reconnected. When using the SDLC interface, the maximum BTU (Basic Transmission Unit) is limited to 521 bytes. This is a known limitation of the IBM SDLC link service provided in SNA Server. See the Microsoft SNA article, "Maximum BTU Limit for Dumb SDLC Interface" for more information. AccelePort Xp Adapters: RTS toggle is not supported. HISTORY Version 3.9 ENHANCEMENTS For DataFire RAS adapters, the firmware was updated to include the following enhancements: o ISDN PRI Service Message Enhancements o Enhanced Signal to Noise Ratio for Analog Modulations o Improved debugging capabilities (CSC logging) BUG FIXES For DataFire RAS adapters, firmware was updated to include the following fixes: o Wink and immediate start signalling fixes o Class 2 Fax fixes for RAS 4 o Management statistics reporting fixes o CSC lockup fixes o Fax and modulation fixes o V.110 PPP mode fixes Version 3.6 ENHANCEMENTS The DigiView trace feature now decodes several more ISDN Information Elements. These elements are: o Maintenance/Service Messages o Call identity o Restart indicator o Display text o Change status BUG FIXES The DigiView trace feature sometimes identified ISDN SETUP packets as UI frames on Basic Rate (BRI) lines. A problem was fixed where service messages brought down the PRI line on some National ISDN switches. Problems relating to the failure to establish ISDN modem connections were fixed. A problem where B channels were not being hung up correctly was fixed. A problem was fixed where no B channel status information was being reported for higher numbered B channels. A problem was fixed for the DataFire RAS 48 adapter where status information on line 1 was being misinterpreted as status information for line 2. Finally, there was a bug that was fixed that might have potentially caused problems with adapters that have interrupts activated. No such problems have been reported to date. Version 3.5 ENHANCEMENTS CompactPCI Adapter Support New SYNC 2000 V.11 and V.35 Cable ID recognition Improved performance for Frame Relay, X.25 and FRF.9 compression Support for Cisco proprietary encapsulation of IP over Frame Relay. Cisco routers have multiple encapsulation schemes for IP on Frame Relay. This mode is the default. Improved modem support for RAS products V.23 half-duplex mode can now be set and used via AT+MS=4. BUG FIXES Modem support maintenance fixes for RAS products. The fixed bugs are: o In operation of the AT command set o In the generation of digital messages that contain capability information (such as negotiating positions in FAX and v.8bis o In the generation of digital FAX image data Several fixes to ISDN data handling Some fixes for management informational ioctls Version 3.4 ENHANCEMENTS PPP protocol support for the Sync570 adapters. Support for IBM Comm Server NT v6.0 for the Sync570 adapters Alpha processor support for all supported adapters Windows NT 3.51 support for DataFire RAS and AccelePort RAS adapters PortAssist Manager Communication Agent service is installed providing communication with PortAssist Manager. This agent uses UDP port 2362 by default, but may be configured for a different port on the Services tab of the Network Control Panel. BUG FIXES This release included all bug fixes from any previous version of driver software release for the supported adapters. Various minor user interface bugs fixed
