Note* - A warning will appear that states you will be updating all Digi Wanlinks adapters installed on this machine. Ignore this warning. It will be removed from the release version of SYNC/570. GETTING STARTED See the manual.pdf for complete installation and configuration instructions. SUPPORT Please reference the following number(s) when searching the Digi FTP/WWW site for the latest software packages: Software Image P/N 40001897_A KNOWN ANOMALIES/PROBLEMS: 1. The SYNC/570 card cannot exist in the same system with the DataFire Sync 2000, AccelePort RAS, or DataFire RAS adapters. This will be resolved in a future version of WanLinks. The SYNC/570 adapter is one of the adapters supported by WanLinks. 2. The PortAssist viewer shows a Line Speed and Configured Baud Rate of zeros for the SYNC/570 if the link is externally clocked. If the link is internally clocked both values show the Configured Baud Rate. The SYNC/570 does not calculate the Line Speed. Future versions will grey-out the Line Speed, and show the Configured Baud Rate for internally clocked lines (externally clocked lines will show a Configured Baud Rate of zero). 3. When configuring ISA boards the configuration program allows the user to press the Windows Diagnostic button to view the current resources being used. When exiting the Diagnostic program the configuration program is no longer the active window. Use the mouse to return to the configuration program. 4. When configuring SNA link services a rebinding process is done. If TCP bound adapters are part of the system configuration the TCP configuration screen appears. The mouse is not available in this window. Use the keyboard to navigate out of the window. This is a Microsoft SNA Server problem which should be fixed on a future Service Pack. 5.. Before removing adapters make sure that all SNA link services are removed. The release version will check for this and not allow the removal until the SNA link services have been removed. 6. If the last protocol (e.g. Frame Relay) is removed from an adapter, another protocol cannot be added to the adapter. If this is done, the new protocols will not come active after the reboot. Disable the protocols, reboot, and add them back. This will be fixed in the release version. 7. PortAssist will show a protocol of SDLC for QLLC SNA links. Use the raw data for problem diagnosis.
