Release Notes PN 93000312B DGX.SYS Version 2.2.8 IBM OS/2 1.3, 2.00, 2.01, 2.1, 2.11, 3.0, 4.0 Diskette: PN 40000309R Software: PN 80006697B April 24, 2000 CONTENTS 1. INTRODUCTION 2. SUPPORTED PRODUCTS 3. ENHANCEMENTS 4. BUG FIXES 5. KNOWN LIMITATIONS 6. HISTORY 1. INTRODUCTION DGX.SYS is the OS/2 driver for Digi International's Classicboard family of serial I/O adapters. 2. SUPPORTED PRODUCTS Digi PC/X, MC/X and Modem/X and Classicboard (ISA and PCI) 3. ENHANCEMENTS No new enhancements in this release. 4. BUG FIXES -- Fixed a problem with the initialization of 4-port PCI Classicboard adapters. 5. KNOWN LIMITATIONS -- A maximum of 32 ports are available using DGX.SYS in OS/2 sessions. -- Though many channels can be active at 1200-4800 baud, only a few channels can sustain the baud rates of 9600 or more without data loss and serious system performance degradation. -- Though the driver supports both ISA and PCI adapters, it cannot run both types simultaneously. 6. HISTORY V2.2.7 March 21, 1999 ENHANCEMENTS -- Added support for the PCI Classicboard. With PCI adapters the port, IRQ and number of ports are read from the adapter's PCI configuration space and not from the config.sys "Device=" line. Thus whereas to load support for an 8 port ISA Classicboard one might specify: DEVICE =C:\DIGI\dgx.sys /P:140 /C:8 /I:5 /n:"digi"0 for a PCI Classicboard one need specify only: DEVICE=C:\DIGI\dgx.sys /n:"digi"0 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- V2.2.6A2 July 30, 1998 BUG FIXES -- Fixed a problem in the interrupt service routine where boards based on the new 16654 UARTs would sometimes hang the OS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- V2.2.6 November 4, 1997 ENHANCEMENTS -- Ports can be anywhere in any order (address-wise). BUG FIXES -- Fixed bug that rendered chaining of interrupts unusable. -- Created workaround for OS/2 Print Spooler bug which would cause redirected Digi printer ports to be paused
