DigiWARE Release Notes 93000261B for Digi C/X, EPC/X, X/em and Xr Async Driver HP-UX 10.10, 10.20, & 11.x Software Package P/N 75000302B Diskette P/N 40001526B V1.1.0 (3.5") Software Manual P/N 92000250B July 26, 1999 This DigiWARE software package includes device drivers for EPC/X, C/X, Xem and Xr product families in both EISA and PCI bus architectures. Description: This device driver supports up to four adapters in either EISA or PCI bus slots in HP-UX systems running operating system versions 10.10, 10.20, and 11.x. This software package includes the device driver binary images, Digi firmware images, configuration scripts, and support utilities. The package may be installed with the standard HP-UX software installation utility, swinstall. Enhancements: New in 1.1.0: A binary image supporting HP-UX 11.x has been added to the device driver package. This package is 32-bit ONLY. Bug Fixes: New in 1.1.0: Added a driver dependency to allow operation on systems in which the HP-UX Workstation I/O kernel code is not, by default, included in the kernel. Known Bugs: The bug described below is installation related. If the device driver installs and your kernel rebuilds and reboots successfully, this bug is nnnnooootttt a concern. As of the writing of this document, no bugs have been reported regarding the operation of the driver once installed. HP-UX 10.10, 10.20, & 11.x - 1 - Release Notes At least one instance has been reported of interoperability problems between the Digi driver software and certain platforms with certain revisions of the operating system. Digi is continuing to investigate this and similar reports, so we currently do not have a definitive operability matrix. The symptom associated with this class of failure: Failures during the ``re-link the kernel'' portion of configuration which indicate that ``the linked output may not run on a PA x.x system''. If you are experiencing behavior such as that described above, please contact a Digi technical support representative. Design Limitations: The Digi device driver currently only supports 32-bit versions of the operating system. ISA adapters are not supported, including ISA adapters in EISA bus slots. Only four adapters may be configured per system. Xem adapters installed with this device driver currently only support the use of PORTS/8em and PORTS/16em EBI modules.
