DigiWARE Release Notes 93000240R for Digi NetWare AIO Device Driver Combo Disk Version 1.5.0 6-8-00 1. Enhancements - The following drivers are at the following revisions. Version ------- * Xem Systems AIODGXEM.NLM V 2.11 * Xr Host Adapters AIODGXR.NLM V 1.10 * Xe Host Adapters AIODGXI.NLM V 2.04 * Xi Host Adapters AIODGXI.NLM V 2.04 * C/X Systems AIODGCX.NLM V 1.16 * EPC/X Systems AIODGEPC.NLM V 2.09 * C/X PCI Systems AIODGCXP.NLM V 1.06 * -indicates version change in this release 2. Limitations General Driver Limitations. - The following baud rates are not supported : 2000, 3600 and 7200 baud. - While hardware handshaking is active, RTS can not be overridden. - Mark and Space Parity are not supported. - The DeadmanTimer function is not supported. - Adjustable buffer sizes are not supported. - Micro Channel is now supported on a seperate disk. Please refer to disk number 40001730. Xem Specific Limitations. - The 8emp module (8 serial ports plus one parallel port) is viewed by the driver (and reported to AIO) as 9 serial ports. However, the 9th port is actually the parallel port and is unusable as a serial port. This means that of the 9 ports reported to AIO only the first 8 are usable. There is no support under AIO for parallel ports. - In ISA and EISA computers these boards may be configured to reside on 32k boundaries in the host memory address range from 80000h - EFFFFh. Xr Specific Limitations. - In ISA and EISA computers these boards may be configured to reside on 32k boundaries in the host memory address range from 80000h - EFFFFh. Xe and Xi Driver Specific Limitations. - The "size=" parameter is no longer supported. If a board is 8k "window-able" it will be run in 8k window mode. - The AIO driver supports a maximum of 7 PC/X* boards in ISA and EISA computers. These boards may be configured with 64k or 128k of dual- ported RAM and may reside at host memory addresses 80000h, 90000h, A0000h, B0000h, C0000h, D0000h, or E0000h. C/X (ISA and EISA) Driver Specific Limitations. - GetPortStatisticsNH is not supported. - The AIO driver supports a maximum of 4 C/X host adapter cards in ISA and EISA computers. - Regardless of hardware buffer space only 1024 bytes transmit and 1024 bytes receive buffer space is claimed. - The C/Con-16 concentrators will support 115k, but with a limited number of ports. EPC/X Driver Specific Limitations. - In ISA and EISA computers the host apapters must be configured to reside on 32k boundaries in the host memory address range from 80000h - DFFFFh. C/X PCI Driver Specific Limitations. - The AIO driver supports a maximum of 4 C/X PCI host adapter cards. - If using an EPC/CON-16, the driver is unable to receive breaks. 3. Bug Fixes - For all of the ISA adapters a problem with loading the driver under Novell NetWare 4.x and 5.0 with service pack f and Novell NetWare 5.1 was fixed. 4. Manual Errata - These drivers require a fully patched NetWare Server. Please check that the current operating system and LAN driver patches are installed. - Documentation is available at www.digi.com. EPC/x Driver Note - In addition to AIODGEPC.NLM, AIOEPCFG.NLM, AIODGMEM.NLM, AIOEPCDT.NLM and AIODGEPC.ADI also copy the files DGEPCXF.BIN, DGEPCXPF.BIN, DGEPCXB.BIN, DGEPCXPB.BIN, DGSER.NLM, DGT1CFG.NLM and FEPMNGR.NLM to the SYS:SYSTEM directory. - The EPC/x Driver no longer supports Micro Channel. Please disregard any reference to this in the manual. All Drivers - As of this release the base addresses 0xe0000 and 0xed000 have been enabled for xr and xem ISA adapters and are disabled for all other ISA adapters. However it is our belief that most new systems that have a PCI bus will not allow the 0xe0000 to 0xeffff range to be used. 5. Update Log (as of 11-18-99) Xem Systems AIODGXEM.NLM Version 2.10 - Added the memory base addresses e0000 and e8000 for ISA adapters. Version 2.09 - The "name=" parameter can now be used with PCI host adapters. It will now load a single board when the name= is used. If that parameter is not included on the command line it will still load all PCI adapters. Xr Host Adapters AIODGXR.NLM Version 1.09 - Added the memory base addresses e0000 and e8000 for ISA adapters. Version 1.08 - The "name=" parameter can now be used with PCI host adapters. It will now load a single board when the name= is used. If that parameter is not included on the command line it will still load all PCI adapters.
