Release Notes PN 93000385_C Digi DXB Device Driver Package (dgdxb) V1.1.1 HP-UX 10.20 & 11.x Software Package P/N 40002143_C V1.1.1 O5/09/02 INTRODUCTION: This Digi software package includes device drivers for PCI adapters in the AccelePort Xp and AccelePort RAS product families. It supports up to thirty-two adapters and includes all necessary driver binaries, firmware images, configuration scripts, etc. It may be installed with the standard HP-UX software installation utility ``swinstall''. SUPPORTED PRODUCTS: AccelePort 2p PCI, AccelePort 4p PCI, AccelePort 8p PCI, AccelePort 16p PCI AccelePort RAS 4, AccelePort RAS 8 ENHANCEMENTS: Adds support for HP-UX 11i. Adds support for the TIOCSETP and TIOCGETP ioctls Updates AccelePort RAS firmware to M BUG FIXES: A problem was fixed that occurred when other DIGI PCI adapters (not associated with this driver) were loaded by the operating system after this driver was loaded. If a PCI version of the DIGI Xr, Xr/920, Xem, EPC/X, or C/X adapter were in the system, there were potential serious problems depending on what order the operating system installed the adapters. KNOWN LIMITATIONS: This package does not support machines running on the IA64 architecture. The cu application does not behave correctly when "Any" is specified for the device line in the uucp/Devices file. To avoid this problem a specific baud rate must be specified instead. The standard HPUX serial port does not have these problems because it does not lower modem controls signals when a baud rate of 0 is specified. This behavior is contrary to what HPUX specifies in its documentation and what is specified by the POSIX specification. This package must be installed after any version of Digi's EPCA driver or Digi's DRP (RealPort) driver. The following patches may be required if you have a multi- processing environment. Contact HP technical support if you need help determining whether these patches are necessary on your machine: PHNE_20008 PHKL_16209 Some of the tools in the package (for instance, dm_gui and dm_admin) support a maximum of four adapters. HISTORY: 1.1.0 Support has been added for HP-UX 11i. A problem has been fixed in the firmware where a RING condition was not showing up. The pause in the dial string has been set to at least 3 seconds. The tools which allow for the selection of arbitrary custom baud rates did not return the actual rate selected by the firmware causing some confusion at high baud rates (where not every integer rate is strictly possible.) The driver was sometimes reporting an incorrect version of the state of hardware flow control. A bug with dm_gui has been fixed that did not allow parts of this application to be accessed under certain environments. 1.0.0: Initial release.
